Thank you to our Columbus Grove parents and community for your help with the success of our recent CG Elementary Partners in Education (PIE) gift card fundraiser. Your support and dedication have truly made a difference.

A special shout-out to everyone who purchased gift cards from the local businesses that participated. Your contribution has not only supported our school but has also bolstered the ties within our community. We extend our thanks to the following businesses: Aguirre's Fillin' Station, Alt’s Gas Station, Shannon Theatre, Cancun Mexican Restaurant, Kip’s Dairy Whip, Farmhouse Market & Deli, Fast Trax, Indian Trail Garden Center, The Pizzeria, Ooh La Latte, Southgate Lanes, The Red Pig Inn, Sycamore Lake, Shirley's Popcorn, Carl’s Hardware, and The Axe Handle.  Your generosity has been instrumental in the success of this fundraiser.

The funds raised through this initiative will have a lasting impact on our school. Proceeds will be directed towards essential items such as additional technology in the classroom, reward days for students, books for our library, and student assemblies, just to name a few items. Together, we are creating an enriched learning environment for our students. Once again, thank you to everyone who played a part in making this fundraiser such a success. 

All juniors will be participating in a job shadow day on Friday, December 12th.  Students are to shadow a career they plan to enter after high school.  This is a great opportunity for students to identify a post-secondary career plan.  Participating in a job shadow will allow students to identify if they really want to continue on that career path of choice, or make an adjustment.  During their senior year, students will participate in building resumes and participate in a mock interview day to conclude the college and career readiness program.

School Nurse Katie Zimmerly scheduled a dental outreach visit to Columbus Grove on Friday, December 12th. Dental Outreach programs for schools typically aim to improve oral health among students by providing preventative treatments, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants. These programs help improve student well-being and attendance by addressing dental issues that might otherwise lead to pain, distraction, or absence from school.  As a result of her efforts, over 50 Columbus Grove students are signed up to receive these dental services next week. Thank you, Katie, for all your efforts! 

Mark your calendars, as Boys’ Basketball  Coach Connor Kohls is coordinating a CG Alumni vs. Alumni basketball scrimmage for Saturday, December 20, at 5:30 p.m. Here are the details: 

Columbus Grove Local Schools is accepting applications for substitute bus drivers. This position has the potential of becoming a full-time bus driver in the future, if applicants are interested. Substitute bus drivers are contacted to drive extracurricular field trips and occasionally drive a regular morning or afternoon route. Certification requires the completion of attending a pre-service class, a written and driving test, CDL license, a medical physical exam, drug test, BMV check of driving record, and a background check. Cost for training will be reimbursed by the district for any individuals who serve as a substitute bus driver for Columbus Grove Local Schools. If you are interested in becoming a bus driver for Columbus Grove School, please contact the Superintendent’s Office at 659-2639 for further information.
