Homecoming Week Thanks

This week, CGHS celebrated Homecoming with a variety of events designed to promote school spirit and create lasting memories for our students. The student body had great participation throughout the week, dressing up for the themed spirit days and at the bonfire on Wednesday evening.

Friday's schedule includes a district-wide pep rally in the afternoon, following the traditional high school walk around town, and the Homecoming Parade prior to kick-off. The CGHS football team will face off against the Allen East Mustangs, and the week will conclude with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night.

We extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week a success. Special recognition goes to Student Council Advisors Stacy Inbody and Dave Hassan, Football Cheer Advisor Mackenzie Clymer, as well as our staff and supportive parents for organizing class dinners. We are also grateful to the Legion for allowing us to host the bonfire by the pond.

Creating meaningful experiences for our students takes a collective effort, and we appreciate everyone who played a part in making this a memorable Homecoming Week for our school and community.

Update: Guest Speaker at CG to be Rescheduled

The guest speaker for CG and Pandora students has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 30th.

“Alex Sheen is the founder of because I said I would, a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept. Sparked by the loss of his father, Alex and his organization send “promise cards” to anyone anywhere in the world at no cost. Alex is someone who truly honors commitment. He once walked over 240 miles across the entire state of Ohio in 10 days to fulfill a promise. In just two years, because I said I would has sent over 12.3 million promise cards to over 153 different countries. The promises written on these cards have made headlines around the world. Alex is a five-time Ted Talk speaker and his charitable work has been featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CNN, The Today Show, NPR, The Los Angeles Times and many other programs.”

Cross Country Trip to Chicago

The cross-country teams took their trip to Chicago this past weekend. Trip activities included the SkyDeck at Willis Tower, an architecture boat tour, putt-putt golf, tour of Millennium Park and Field Museum, a Ghost tour, Navy Pier, and much more. There was also plenty of good food and snacks to choose from.

Golf Team Conference Matches

The Bulldog golf team finished NWC play with a 2nd-place (341) finish at the NWC tournament last week. Gage Sautter was a Medalist finishing with a (77), good for an overall 2nd place finish. Dalton Hyman (80) finished 5th overall for the Bulldogs. Great conference finish by our golf team.

This past Monday, the Bulldog golfers finished in third place (331) at the PCL meet. Gage Sautter set a new school record (74), and repeated as a 1st team selection. Dalton Hyman (89) earned 2nd team honors. Clark Keehn (85) and Mitchell Schroeder (86) earned Honorable Mention in the PCL. Good luck to the Bulldogs as they begin tournament action today.

Live Streaming Available for Many CG Sports

The CG Athletic Boosters, CG Athletic Department, and the Columbus Grove High School of Business present live stream and on-demand options to watch CG events. All activities on the football field at Clymer Stadium and in the high school gym will be available to watch on any device including on a TV using Roku. This subscription-based service will be available to purchase before the event for a single purchase, monthly subscription, or annual subscription. While we do not want to have residents and fans skip the live atmosphere of the game, this is a great alternative for those out of the area to support our students. The option of watching games later at your convenience is another added benefit. Visit http://fan.hudl.com/cgbulldogs to watch highlights and subscribe to this service.
