Spotlight Athlete of the Week 11/14

Spotlight Athlete: Carter Flores
This week’s athlete spotlight features Carter Flores, a standout member of the football program who plays right guard on the offensive line. Carter has been passionate about the sport since he first put on pads at just five years old, and his years of dedication continue to show on the field.
Carter recently earned Honorable Mention All-Conference, a testament to the strength, skill, and consistency he brings to the offensive line. In addition to football, he stays active as a member of the varsity baseball team, showcasing his versatility as an athlete.
When it comes to football, Carter’s favorite part is watching his teammates’ hard work pay off during games—a reflection of the strong team mentality he brings to every practice and matchup. Personally, his goal is to earn First Team All-Conference next year, while his biggest team goal is ambitious and clear: a state title.
Outside of sports, Carter enjoys spending his time golfing and fishing, hobbies that bring balance to his busy athletic schedule.
Spotlight Athlete: Linzi Schroeder
This week’s athlete spotlight shines on Linzi Schroeder, a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the cheer team. Linzi has been cheering for six years, and her passion for the sport continues to grow with each season.
Over the past year, Linzi has worked hard to improve her jumps, a personal accomplishment she’s especially proud of. Beyond cheer, she keeps a busy schedule—she’s involved in track, 4-H, Leo Club, National Honor Society, and dance, showcasing her commitment both on and off the sidelines.
When asked about her favorite part of cheer, Linzi shared that she loves the new friendships she’s made and the excitement of hyping up the crowd during games and events. She’s determined to keep excelling academically while encouraging her team to recognize and be proud of their progress and perseverance.
A fun fact about Linzi? She made her own homecoming dress her freshman year—a perfect example of her creativity and determination.
As a senior, Linzi plans to attend college to become a physical therapy assistant, where she’ll continue to bring her positivity, dedication, and team spirit to everything she does.
