Spotlight Athlete of the Week 4/18

Spotlight Athlete: Riley Sautter
After 13 years on the diamond, Riley Sautter has made a name for himself as a dedicated and passionate ballplayer. He’s been playing baseball since the age of five, and it’s clear the sport runs deep in his roots. Known for his toughness and leadership, Riley recently achieved a major personal milestone—getting his first hit back after recovering from ACL surgery, in a big game against Cory-Rawson. It was a moment that proved his determination and love for the game.
But Riley doesn’t stop at baseball. He’s a true multi-sport athlete, also involved in football, CYO basketball, and 4-H. He values the bonds he’s built with his teammates, calling those relationships his favorite part of playing baseball.
This season, Riley’s goal is to continue progressing in his recovery and reclaim his spot in the starting lineup. With his eyes set on helping the team win a conference title and make a deep postseason run, his drive and heart are exactly what every coach wants in a player.
A proud fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Riley also has big plans after high school. He’s set to attend the GROB Apprenticeship Program, where he’ll continue to work hard and build a successful future.
We’re proud to shine the spotlight on Riley Sautter—a true example of grit, resilience, and team spirit.
Spotlight Athlete: Carlie Aguirre
This week’s spotlight shines on senior standout Carlie Aguirre, a key player at shortstop who’s been playing softball for 12 years. Known for her consistency and leadership in the infield, Carlie has put together an impressive season, highlighted by a strong batting percentage and a personal goal to go error-free through an entire inning—something that takes true focus and skill.
Carlie is also involved off the field as a member of the Leo Club, showing her commitment to her school and community. What she loves most about softball? Her teammates. The bond they share fuels her competitive spirit and drive to help lead the team to big things.
This season, Carlie and her team have their sights set on one major goal: winning the PCL. With her leadership and work ethic, there’s no doubt she’ll play a big role in that push.
A fun fact about Carlie—she can make a bowl with her tongue (seriously, ask her!). After graduation, she plans to attend Rhodes State College to pursue a career in nursing, showing that her dedication to helping others extends far beyond the field.
We’re proud to feature Carlie Aguirre—a hardworking, talented athlete with a bright future ahead!
